The Namibia Water Corporation (NamWater) has announced water interruptions in the Khomas region, particularly in Windhoek, on Tuesday from 08h00 to 20h00.
In a brief statement, NamWater says it is currently experiencing pipe leakages along the Von Bach-Windhoek transfer system.
“To conduct the necessary maintenance work, NamWater has scheduled a 12-hour shutdown on Tuesday from 08h00 to 20h00.
“We urge all stakeholders to plan accordingly for the scheduled shutdown, and we will continue to provide updates on the progress,” the statement reads.
City of Windhoek spokesperson Lydia Amutenya says the city will be providing its clients with water as usual during the interruption.
“Our reservoirs are full and we are ready for tomorrow. There is no need to panic about water supply interruption from NamWater to Windhoek.
“Let us just kindly use water sparingly as usual during this period,” she says.
