Kavango East man injured in hippo attack
A MAN (32) from Mutjiku village in the Kavango East region was injured in a hippopotamus attack on Monday.
Kavango East acting regional commander deputy commissioner Eino Nambahu says Mudipiri Kamana was attacked while fishing on the Kavango River near Kamutjonga village.
Nambahu says Kamana was fishing with two friends when a hippopotamus struck their canoe.
“As Kamana attempted to swim to safety, the hippo attacked him, inflicting serious injuries,” Nambahu says.
Kamana is currently in stable but serious condition at Andara hospital, Nambahu adds.
