Young cyclists to compete in Europe

The 19-year-old Monique du Plessis, who won the National Elite Women's cross-country title earlier this month will accompany Namibia's top junior men's MTB riders Kevin Lowe and Daniel Hahn, as well as national u16 champion Roger Suren to compete in several Swiss Cup MTB races as well as the UCI MTB World Championships in Les Gets, France.

The first race in Switzerland is at Langendorf on 13 August, followed by the Profix Swiss Cup a week later, which is also part of the Junior World Series.

They will also compete in the junior category at the World Championships on 25 August, where fellow Namibians Alex Miller and Hugo Hahn will compete in the u23 category two days later.

They are supported by the Namibia Cycling Federation, Rock & Rut MTB Club, Cymot, Mannie's Bike Mecca and Megatech.
