Police spokesperson chief inspector Elifas Kuwinga reported that the deceased was identified as Rolina Witbooi.
Kuwinga said the suspect allegedly assaulted the victim with a sjambok and kicked her all over the body on Friday.
“It is further alleged that they then went to bed and the suspect tried to wake up the deceased in the next morning (Saturday), but she was dead,” Kuwinga said.
According to Kuwinga, the two were in a relationship.
The next of kin have been informed and the suspect was arrested.
Police investigation continues, while the suspect is due to appear in court on Monday, Kuwinga added.
