NSSCO results out

EDUCATION minister Anna Ester Nghipondoka says 46 977 full-time pupils sat for the Grade 11 exams at 380 full-time centres, an increase of 25 329 candidates from 21 648 in the 2020 academic year.

She was speaking at the announcement of the 2021 national examination results for the Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate (NSSCO) Grade 11 candidates on Friday.

Additionally, 7 348 part-time candidates sat for the same exam at 115 part-time registered centres. This is the second cohort for this specific qualification, after the JSC curriculum was phased out.

At the same platform, the 2021 academic year was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic as well as the leakage of the question papers in some subjects.

The minister said re-running the examinations cost the education ministry over N$15 million.
