Jericho involved in car crash, hospitalised

Rapper-turned-gospel artist Jericho Gawanab was involved in an accident on Friday night after a show in Tsumeb.

A case of reckless or negligent driving and drunken driving is being investigated.

The incident was confirmed by the police who indicated that the musician and his three passengers were hospitalised with injuries to the head, neck and chest.

Jericho, who was driving a Toyota Cross, was involving in a head-on collision with an Izuzu bakkie while overtaking another vehicle at about 23h00 on the Tsumeb-Grootfontein main road about 27 kilometres from Tsumeb.

“Both drivers’ blood was drawn for alcohol testing at the Tsumeb State Hospital. No arrests have been made while investigations continue,” the police said.

All those travelling in the bakkie were also taken to hospital with injuries.

Jericho was last year charged with robbing a member of the Namibian Defence Force at Karibib.-unWrap.online
