UDF urges Geingob to extend Khomas lockdown

United Democratic Front (UDF) president Apius !Auchab says president Hage Geingob should extend the lockdown of the Khomas region.

“With rising cases of Covid-19 in Windhoek, the lockdown must be extended,” !Auchab said.

!Auchab told The Namibian that proper planning needs to be done before the lockdown is lifted.

He also called for the lockdown of Rehoboth and Okahandja to be extended as well.

The UDF leader does not support the extension of the state of emergency, saying will drain the economy.

!Auchab said Namibia is a small country and if Namibians play politics “Covid-19 will wipe us out”.

The UDF leader also said only tourists from countries that have few Covid-19 cases should be allowed into Namibia with provision that they be quarantined for a week.
