One Africa TV celebrates Namibia with exciting new shows

JUDGING from the amount of local content making it onto the One Africa TV (OATV) schedule, the year is looking bright for Namibian TV.

A host of entertaining shows, reflecting the realities of popular Namibian entertainment personalities, have been bringing local flavour to OATV, while a hot new show will be making its debut in 2020.

‘Die Eintlike Vibe’ is a trendy Namibian music show featuring quiz games, live performances, and mini-interviews with Namibia’s grooviest musicians. This is the first Namibian TV show that is produced and presented by artists for artists, making for intimate, trustworthy engagement.

Primarily centred on reviewing music albums, it has evolved into a platform where artists are interviewed by music peers who understand the struggles in the music industry. Superstar Adora serves as the main host while kwaito sensation Tulisan holds it down as the co-host for the gaming segment. Look out for ‘Die Eintlike Vibe’ coming soon.

Originally starting off as a vlog, ‘Planet Michaels’ follows the adventures of a multicultural family of four who document their travels, lifestyle, and adventures. The show screens on Sundays at 18h30 with repeats on Thursdays at 20h00 and Saturday’s at 07h00.

‘Family Affairs’ is a reality show capturing the drama, excitement, romance and celebrity world of well-known Namibian musicians Matongo Family. It brings to the screen the never-before-told story of Namibia’s most loved music trio. Initially starting as a way of documenting their reunion for the 2016 Namibia Annual Music Awards, the show concept eventually gave way to a bigger vision of doing something meaningful. It screens on Sundays at 18h00 with repeats on Mondays at 21h00, Tuesdays at 21h30 and Saturdays at 06h30.

‘Yellow Submarine’ is centred around the arts as well as other issues affecting artists. The hour-long sit-down talk show features Namibian celebrities and is targeted at a demographic of art lovers from the age of 16. With compelling interviews from many of Namibia’s legends such as Ras Sheehama, Sally Boss Madam and Gazza, this show is not to be missed. Watch it on Sundays at 16h30 with repeats on Saturdays at 20h00.

OATV is available to view on GOtv channel 90, DStv channel 284, DStv Now and TV2Africa.com.
