Auas Motors Drives NRU

The Namibian Rugby Union (NRU) has recognised Auas Motors for their contribution to rugby in the country. On Monday, Auas Motors presented new head Coach Phil Davies as well as backline coach Pieter Rossouw with courtesy vehicles they will use during their stay in Namibia.

In addition, Auas Motors have also made available to the NRU two Opel Vivaro Passenger Vans to carry members of the national team in and around Windhoek. This is an extension of a long relationship between the NRU and Auas Motors who are the preferred GM dealer in Namibia.

Every year, Auas Motors provide two courtesy vehicles to the NRU but this year they have increased their support to eight vehicles in total as the national team prepare for the Rugby World Cup in September.

Auas Motors marketing officer Gerhard Engelbrecht said at the handover that Auas Motors wants to make a significant contribution to Namibia rugby’s campaign.

“We feel it is a social responsibility to support rugby in our country, and to assist the growth of rugby and make it successful at all levels,” said Engelbrecht.

Namibian head coach Phil Davies said the contribution by the business community was crucial to the team’s success.

“It is wonderful to see local businesses support the national team in the way they have and I have to thank Auas Motors for the vehicles to have made available to the team, Pieter and myself. Without it, our job would be so much harder and we are really grateful,” said Davies.

Auas Motors have fully equipped dealerships in Windhoek, Gobabis and Mariental and stock the full range of Chevrolet, Opel, Isuzu, Hummer and Cadillac vehicles.
