These Monstrous Crimes

I’m what you call an alien called Venusk. Ask me why and I will tell you I do not know. I would say I live in a fourth dimension or within a nightmare that surrounds me as a joke.

I do not know if the media is entertained by the on-going murders of young ladies or they are just simply doing their duty. It’s really ironic, a day going by picking up a newspaper that has no murder in it makes one go “wow, that’s new!”.

Gender-based violence is on the rise like a joke, and by gender I do mean gender, because recently a guy was stabbed by his girlfriend. But because it’s a girl who committed the crime, we will see it as self-defence, but who knows, we weren’t there, now were we? My mind is making rounds, going in circles trying to get to the bottom of this. “Cut the evil form the roots.” I wonder: is it a competition set by churches that are making people eat grass?

We call them passion killings, but as others have said, there is no passion in killing… Oh wait, serial killers are very passionate about what they do. But that still doesn’t cut it, murder is murder. Everybody is affected, whether related to the victim, the suspect or just an innocent by stander, this affects us all. Imagine Namibia being rated the most dangerous place to live for women, and for men too maybe.

We live in a world where we play the blame game instead of finding solutions to the problems. And those who do try to find solutions, well I personally think the tabled solutions are a bit biased. Firstly, death sentencing: “Two wrongs don’t make a right” This goes hand in hand with “burying them alive”. Killing someone for killing another makes no sense to me.

Secondly, praying: I’m a fence sitter when it come to this, I will be that spectator watching while you’re all taking a day off from work for a prayer that will not last longer than two minutes. I will just be at home sharpening my pencils and buying enough salt. Prayers? My country has got jokes.

Last but not least, it’s really ironic how these people commit these monstrous crimes and then turn themselves in to the police to be declared mentally unstable. Does this imply that our country is full of nutheads? Well, I better get myself checked before I take someone else’s life, then.

It would be unfair if I just criticise others opinions about the matter at hand and not offer solutions in return? Just a few alternatives to the tabled solutions. Death sentence: Let it be done not by another human hand, that would mean us killing each other and who will be the last man standing? Rather just drop these people in the middle of the desert with no food, no water, I mean let them slaughter each other, they are good at it. This way no tax payer’s money is wasted on man-slaughterers. And as for the prayers: Pray that they won’t make it out from the desert.
