Man charged with attempted murder for allegedly beating up son

A 43-YEAR-OLD man from Omusati is facing attempted murder charges after he allegedly beat up his son until he bled from the nose and mouth.

Omusati police reported that the incident happened on Sunday at Otjaandjamwenyo village. The suspect Tjiwana Ndotoro, an Angolan national, allegedly flogged his son Kasitara Ndotoro (20) with a wooden club all over his body until he started bleeding from his nose and mouth.

“Police were called to the household by the neighbours, who were scared he might kill his son, and rushed him to the hospital at the village, but his condition was critical. He had to be taken to Outapi hospital by ambulance. The suspect was arrested and made a court appearance in the Outapi Magistrate’s Court on Monday, where he was remanded in custody for further investigations,” reported the Omusati police crime investigations coordinator, deputy commissioner Malakia Simaho.
