NETUMBO Nandi-Ndaitwah and Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila have sailed through as candidates for the Swapo vice president position.
Other contestants who had been nominated for the position are Frans Kapofi, Tom Alweendo, Jerry Ekandjo and Pohamba Shifeta but they fell by the wayside.
Sophia Shaningwa and Armas Amukwiyu remain the candidates for the secretary general’s position.
Lucia Witbooi, Evelyn Nawases-Taayele, Martha Namundjebo-Tilahun, Uahekua Herunga, Elijah Ngurare were nominated as candidates for the deputy secretary general’s position.
That position will only be contested by four candidates .
