Internationally recognised pageant contributor, model agent and fashion stylist Bobby Kaanjosa recently scooped the Namibian franchise for the Miss Petite Global pageant.
As part of the partnership, Kaanjosa will be the new Namibian national director for the Miss Petite Global pageant.
Originally from Walvis Bay, Kaanjosa has so far been able to successfully send models to various countries like South Africa, the Philippines, Botswana, Zambia, Thailand and now Malaysia.
Kaanjosa is passionate about beauty and fashion and is determined to work hard to empower young men and women.
Kaanjosa formed the pageant in 2018 under ‘Pageant Girls by Bobby K’, which aimed to select and represent models internationally. However, in 2022, this was revamped to ‘Walk by Bobby Kaanjosa’, to include a training and mentoring aspect.
“’Walk by Bobby Kaanjosa’ became a school/academy, as we still select and represent models and we still do training for individuals and other pageants. ‘Walk by Bobby Kaanjosa’, is a pageant institution that aims to train, groom and represent beauty kings and queens from Namibia, mainly for international pageants to achieve great results. We do training from amateur to advance. Also, we do show choreography, show producing and training for models in both pageants and high fashion. We also provide mental support to our participants,” he said.
The Miss Petite Global pageant is an international pageant hosted in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This year marks its second edition.
The pageant aims to give non typical models a chance to also advocate issues close to their hearts, without height being a barrier. The pageant’s vision is help petite women gain a voice in the institution of pageants, with the winner going on to advocate social issues, model internationally and be an ambassador for various causes and companies associated with the pageant.
Kaanjosa said the process began when he saw the pageant on Instagram last month and reached out to them to apply to be the Namibian national director.
“‘Walk by Bobby Kaanjosa’ has allowed me to be recognised internationally and I have been able to work and succeed with Namibian models.
“Financially, I am getting there, with more support. I do believe that I can grow and expand my academy to other parts of the country,” he said.
“My career run is about 10 years now. I am just a passionate individual who believes his breakthrough and purpose is about the realisation of other people’s dreams.
“I am honestly delighted and honoured to be adding another major franchise to my company, as this just means I am being given more opportunities to help make another Namibian woman’s dream come true. I already hold the licences for Miss Teen Eco Tourism World, Mrs Earth and Miss Tourism World for 2023. I do look forward to making a difference,” he said.
