Seven boys between the ages of 15 and 17, including a 20-year-old man, were on Saturday arrested for allegedly stabbing and robbing a Zimbabwean truck driver.
According to a police report, the incident took place at Ndama settlement at Rundu on Saturday at midnight.
“It’s alleged that the suspects stabbed the victim with a sharp object in the cheek, head and hand to overpower him, and took his wallet by force, and some undisclosed items from the truck,” the report reads.
Five of the suspects are believed to be members of a group of schoolgoing minors who call themselves ‘the Okapi family’.
The group has allegedly been harassing the Ndama community.
The police were allegedly tipped off on the incident by community members.
According to the report, the suspects robbed the driver of cash, a smartphone, his driving licence and personal documents.
The driver was rescued by members of the community and taken to Rundu State Hospital.
