The 33rd Heroes Day commemoration, which was slated for Omuthiya in the Oshikoto region, has been relocated to Windhoek.
Audrin Mathe, the executive director of information and communication technology, announced this on Monday in a media release.
He says the change of venue is due to the state visit of Cuban president Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudes, who has been invited as a guest of honour by president Hage Geingob.
“The government would like to invite Namibians from all parts of the country to come in large numbers and commemorate the selfless acts of sacrifice, while reaffirming our patriotism that fosters pride and duty towards our nation,” Mathe says.
