The state funeral of Dr Eloby Amundaba was held on Monday at the Eenhana Heroes’ Shrine in the Ohangwena region.
Amundaba died on 8 August.
The funeral was attended by his former colleagues in the struggle for independence such as former president Hifikepunye Pohamba, Sebastian Ndeitunga, Charles Namoloh and general Denga Ndaitwah.
He was described as a committed and progressive contributor to the liberation and independence of Namibia, who saved many soldiers’ lives as a medical officer of the People’s Liberation Army of Namibia.
