Moblie Telecommunication Company (MTC) is calling on innovators to participate in the 2023 MTC Tech Innovation Bazaar.
The bazaar is in collaboration with ICTechHub and the Namibia University of Science and Technology (Nust) High-Tech Transfer Plaza Select (HTTPS) to be hosted under the theme ‘Digital Inclusivity Through Innovation’ is set to take place in Windhoek from 15 to 17 November.
The MTC Tech Innovation Bazaar is set to showcase groundbreaking technologies and innovations that are driving progress in the realms of the fourth and fifth Industrial Revolution.
Nawa Likando, MTC’s head of digital transformation and innovation, says MTC believes in the power of innovation to drive positive change.
He says the innovation bazaar is testament to the communication company’s commitment to fostering a culture of digital inclusivity.
“By collaborating with ICTechHub and Nust, we are creating a platform where groundbreaking ideas can thrive and contribute to the advancement of technology in Namibia and beyond,” Likando says.
The event will showcase cutting-edge technology and innovation with the potential to revolutionise various industries, with a specific focus on enhancing digital inclusivity.
By bringing together a diverse range of participants, including investors, industry stakeholders, mentors, partners, and innovators, the event aims to incubate and absorb their ideas into the market.
Innovators will have the opportunity to present their projects and ideas to potential investors, opening doors for funding and support.
Cutting-edge technology, prototypes, and innovative solutions will be exhibited, demonstrating the potential to revolutionise various industries.
Heike Winschiers-Theophilus, the co-founder and head of the Inclusive and Collaborative Tech Innovation Hub at Nust, says the MTC Tech Innovation Bazaar seeks to demonstrate how technological advancement contributes to digital inclusivity.
“This involves including rural communities, pupils, young people, and elders, among others – not only being consumers but also drivers of innovation and designers of relevant technologies,” she says.
MTC and Nust ICTechHub call on creatives and innovators to submit their creative ideas to the MTC Tech Innovation Bazaar before or on 13 October in order to participate.
Areas for consideration include the environment, tourism, arts and culture, education, youth and social services, finance, trade and commerce, health, information and ocmmunication technology, labour, works, industrial relations, employment creation, urban-rural development, justice, gender equality, child protection, and defence.
At the event, aspiring start-ups and innovators will pitch their ideas to a panel of judges and potential investors, vying for support to turn their visions into reality.
