The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) has announced that Namibia has been awarded hosting rights for the 2024 IMMAF Africa Championships.
This event follows the historic 2023 IMMAF Africa Championships which saw Angola become the first nation outside of South Africa to host the continent’s highest-profile amateur mixed martial arts event.
The 2024 IMMAF Africa Championships will be supported by the African MMA Confederation (AMMAC) who will ensure the event will be held to very highest standards of excellence as they seek to continue the evolution of the sport in the region.
The event will also serve as an opportunity to continue the development of the sport by enabling international competition through the organisation of national federations around the world.
Whilst South Africa once dominated the IMMAF Africa landscape, over the past few years nations such as Namibia, Angola, Zambia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo have all become major players in their own right.
The 2024 IMMAF Africa Championships will provide the ideal platform for an even wider array of African nations to launch themselves into the forefront of the continent’s rapid expansion in the world of amateur MMA. – immaf.org
