Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from different parts of the country will converge at Swakopmund for the second edition of the K2G NextGen Entrepreneurs Showcase from 2 to 4 November.
The event is being hosted by the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) and sponsored by Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) Namibia, and will be held at the Dome.
According to a statement issued by NIPDB senior marketing manager Catherine Shipushu, the event will build on its successful maiden edition at Tsumeb, which attracted MSMEs from all 14 regions of the country.
Erongo governor Neville Andre will deliver the keynote address and officially open the exhibition, Shipushu says.
The K2G NextGen Entrepreneurs aims to empower young people and women-owned MSMEs, creating opportunities that enhance market access and capacity-building opportunities for these businesses, thus enabling them to contribute to generating economic activity in the country.
More than 45 innovative and forward-thinking Namibian entrepreneurs are expected at the show, displaying their products and services, while connecting with business support organisations such as GS1 Namibia and Team Namibia.
“Participants are expected to exhibit various products and services ranging from agriculture, manufacturing, information communication technology to renewable energy,” Shipushu says, adding that adequately nurtured MSMEs are the cornerstone of thriving economies, with the potential to create employment opportunities.
“However, to thrive and grow, these enterprises often need the right kind of support and mentorship.
In line with its mandate to develop and support the acceleration of MSMEs, the NIPDB, through collaboration with other stakeholders, coordinates these targeted initiatives designed to bolster these businesses in achieving this objective,” she says.
