A big match lies in store in the Debmarine Namibia Premiership tonight when log leaders African Stars take on third-placed Khomas Nampol at Windhoek’s Independence Stadium. 

Stars currently lead the log with 29 points from 12 matches, followed by FC Ongos on 29 from 13 matches, while Khomas Nampol are third on 28 points from 12 matches, and a win for either team will put them at the top of the log, as the league heads towards the halfway mark. 

In other Premiership matches,Young Brazilians travel north to take on Julinho Sporting at Rundu on Saturday and Okakarara Young Warriors at Grootfontein on Sunday. 

In other sport this weekend the Southern Stream First Division continues with matches scheduled for Windhoek, Mariental, Rehoboth and Keetmanshoop, while the FNB Women’s Super League continues with matches in Windhoek, Swakopmund and Okahandja. 

And then of course, there’s the small matter of the Nedbank Desert Dash, with Namibian and international cyclists due to start at 14h30 today to take on the gruelling 397km course from Windhoek, over the Khomas Hochland Mountains and down to Swakopmund at the coast, within the cut-off time of 24 hours.
