Cardo FB features president on new album

Cardo FB

Walvis Bay-born artist Cardo FB will soon be dropping an album featuring the voice of president Hage Geingob.

The album will be titled ‘Prohibited’.

Cardo FB, real name Recardo Langani (34), says his album will be unique, as it will include the song ‘Alcohol is Prohibited’, featuring a voice clip of the president in a speech made during the Covid-19 lockdown period.

He says the song has been played at State House and has received airplay on various radio stations.

Geingob hasn’t shied away from making it known that he has heard the song and enjoyed it, Cardo FB says.

“I was the first artist to do a song using our president’s voice, therefore the album will be unique,” he says.

The 18-track album produced by his studio, !Gomen //Gams Finest, comprises mainly Damara punch, he says.

“Everyone who has heard the singles says it’s about time I take the industry by storm,” Cardo FB says.

Currently three singles, ‘/Gomgu Di Plags’, ‘Neta Ge A’ (‘I Am Here’) and ‘Prohibited’, featuring Geingob, are being played on Fresh FM and Kaisames radio stations.

‘/Gomgu Di Plags’ is a song about Angolan whisky being enjoyed by Namibians.

Cardo FB says he has worked with hip-hop artist Chippa Low, Marockstar, Eddies and J-Tears, and believes many artists in the Damara punch genre are doing “much good”, but need to release music videos.

He says he is blessed to have a studio that doesn’t only produce music, but music videos too.

“I believe my music will make people dance as much as the bigger artists in the industry,” Cardo FB says.

The album is the artist’s third.
