Bank supports business innovation

Bank Windhoek says it is committed to working with industry stakeholders to support a spirit of business innovation.

This was said by the bank’s executive officer of retail banking services and specialist finance James Chapman, when the bank held its annual Bank Windhoek Central Estate Agents Awards in Windhoek on Friday.

According the the bank, the awards reward real estate agents for their dedication to the development of the country’s property market.

“This is evident in our recently launched sustainability loan product, which was well received in the market. Bank Windhoek is ready to partner with our customers and stakeholders to realise our collective vision for a sustainable and prosperous future for Namibia,” he said.

Aqua Real Estate Trust, which specialises in agricultural land sales, was nominated as the top central estate agency, followed by Rightmove Properties Windhoek and Just Property Group, who took third place, while Liv-In Real Estate and Okamita Property Development were the estate agencies with the highest volume of transactions.

In the individual accolades, Hermanus Dreyer of Aqua Real Estate Trust was named the top estate agent who submitted loan business worth N$20 million or more, followed by Jacko Koen from Okamita Property Development.

Real estate agents with the highest volume of transactions were recognised with special awards, with Okamita Property Development’s Koen in first place, Liv-In Real Estate’s Linda Visagie coming second and Anita Dames of Rightmove Properties Windhoek in third place.
Dreyer described the property market as good, with positive outcomes.

“Namibia is a small country, so word of mouth spreads quickly. When we serve our clients well, they spread the message, and we get more referrals,” he said.

Schantal Teichmann of Just Property Group said the year had been hectic and observed a strong buyer’s market.

“To reach my targets and maintain business, I adopted an open-door policy and work with great agents who offer good service. Marketing is essential, hence, we rely on social media platforms to market our services,” she said.

According to a statement from the bank, estate agents who submitted loan business of between N$15 million and N$20 million are Dames of Rightmove Properties Windhoek; Jannie Erasmus of Hashtag Home; Cecilia Roodt of SpesBona Property Brokers; Andreya Pereira of Andreya Pereira Properties and Gretha dos Santos from the Just Property Group.

Estate agents recognised for submitting loan business of between N$10 million and N$15 million were Visagie of Liv-In Real Estate; Lourette Liebenberg from Rightmove Properties Windhoek; Anna Oberholzer from Annie Oberholzer Real Estate Trust; Irmgard Hamayulu of L-Ham Properties and Hayley Fay from Hayley Fay Properties.

The bank added that Malcolm Ndjiharine of Getsen Real Estate; Succesia Mareka of Success Real Estate and Morenga Ipinge of DNC Property Shop and Real Estate were recognised for submitting loan business of between N$5 million and N$10 million.

Also in the same group were Pieter Louw of Windhoek Property Brokers; Yolanda van Rooyen of Yolanda van Rooyen Real Estate; Phortune Ekandjo of P & S Properties; Ruanca Klose of Windhoek Property Brokers; Ndahafa Nikodemus of Bolenda Real Estate; Lona van Wyk of Just Property Group; Heinrich Schmidt from Hashtag Home; Kestodia Tobias of Divine Realtors and Jan Visagie of Spes Bona Property Brokers (Pty) Ltd. – email: matthew@namibian.com.na
