Football fans will be entertained as the PsTBet NFA Cup round of 16 takes place this weekend.
The venues and times for the clashes, with Ongos and Khomas Nampol FC being the stand-out tie, are yet to be determined.
Yesterday’s draw also pitted Namibia Premiership champions African Stars against fallen giants Orlando Pirates, with Eeshoke Chula Chula facing Unam and Tigers facing Civics in another notable match-up.
North East First Division outfit hopes to continue their run with an upset over Mighty Gunners, who have lost the FA Cup finals twice before.
Oryza Sativa from the Zambezi region, the only second division team still in the competition, have a date with Life Fighters, who were recently relegated from the Namibia Premier Football League.
Speaking during the round of 16 draw, PsTBET co-founder Nelly Heita said they were proud to be associated with the excitement and memorable contests generated by the FA Cup.
He said the round of 16 stakes are higher, as every match and each goal becomes more crucial and lucrative, and called on football fans to get behind the teams still in the competition.
“This is something that embodies the spirit of competition and unity. The journey that we have embarked on has been nothing short of remarkable, from the very first kick-off to this moment,” Heita said.
“We have witnessed the perseverance and dedication of players, coaches and fans alike. The round of 32 was a testament to the talent and the perseverance of all involved,” he said.
