Namibia and Angola on Friday held a senior official session in preparation of the inaugural session of the Angola-Namibia Bi-National Commission.
The meeting took place in Luanda and will last for three days.
The session aims to review, facilitate exchange, and bring substantive ideas to reinforce the fraternal bilateral ties between Angola and Namibia.
Speaking at the official opening ceremony on Friday, the head of the Namibian delegation and executive director of international relations and cooperation, Penda Naanda, said: “I am convinced our deliberations will be geared towards strengthening bilateral cooperation between our two countries and peoples.”
Naanda said the two countries continue to enjoy excellent and cordial bilateral relations dating back to the liberation struggle.
He said the goal is for senior officials and technocrats to ensure meaningful change in the lives of both countries’ citizens.
“I have no doubt that through our combined efforts . . . we will be able to execute our mandate, translating into tangible and concrete recommendations of common interest for the consideration and adoption by the ministerial session.
“I wish our two delegations fruitful deliberations . . ,” he said.
