Local businesses urged to participate in Luanda fair

THE Namibian business community is being urged to explore the potential vast business opportunities offered by neighbouring Angola, by participating at this year’s International Fair of Luanda, FILDA fair, to be held in Luanda in July.

In a statement, the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) operations manager, Charity Mwiya, called upon interested business people to take advantage of the fair saying local business leaders were enthusiastic about the possibilities for the Namibian industry in the Angola market. The FILDA fair is one of Angola’s economic activities created with the main objective of providing businesses the opportunity to market their products and services.”The NCCI believes that with proper business information and support, Namibian companies can prosper and achieve one of the biggest presence in the Angolan markets,” said Mwiya, adding that NCCI and the Ministry of Trade and Industry would ensure that Namibia’s participation at the fair would be a success.A major feature of Namibia’s presence at this year’s fair is the selection of small to medium business enterprises that are also to participate. In preparing for the FILDA fair, NCCI is organising a workshop scheduled later next month, where the Namibian ambassador to Angola and representatives from Angola, will address the local business community. The FILDA fair is the second largest in the region after SAITEX of South Africa and over 500 companies from all over the world are expected to participate at the July fair.Meanwhile, a brief meeting on the FILDA fair will be held at the NCCI head office in Windhoek today at 16h00.The FILDA fair is one of Angola’s economic activities created with the main objective of providing businesses the opportunity to market their products and services.”The NCCI believes that with proper business information and support, Namibian companies can prosper and achieve one of the biggest presence in the Angolan markets,” said Mwiya, adding that NCCI and the Ministry of Trade and Industry would ensure that Namibia’s participation at the fair would be a success.A major feature of Namibia’s presence at this year’s fair is the selection of small to medium business enterprises that are also to participate. In preparing for the FILDA fair, NCCI is organising a workshop scheduled later next month, where the Namibian ambassador to Angola and representatives from Angola, will address the local business community. The FILDA fair is the second largest in the region after SAITEX of South Africa and over 500 companies from all over the world are expected to participate at the July fair.Meanwhile, a brief meeting on the FILDA fair will be held at the NCCI head office in Windhoek today at 16h00.
