THE Windhoek Traffic Department claims that Higher Education Minister Nahas Angula acted within the law when he left the scene of an accident on Saturday night.
The acting head of the department, Superintendent David Viljoen, said yesterday that “there was no case” against Angula because he “acted within” the law, which states that when there are no injuries, those involved could leave and report the accident within 24 hours. Angula acknowledged crashing into the back of a car at a traffic light. The Minister said he left the scene to report the incident to the Police Station, but that traffic officers caught up with him and escorted him home.”The intention was not to stop in the dark where there were no Police officers and possibly get into some sort of an argument. It’s one of those things.I accept my responsibility and I am sorry for the gentleman to whom I caused such pain,” Angula said. The car belonged to Elton John Daniel.Angula acknowledged crashing into the back of a car at a traffic light. The car belonged to Elton John Daniel.
