PLEASE allow me a space in your newspaper to respond to the members of the Namibia Farmer’s Support Initiative (NFSI), The Namibian 10/06/2004.
My name is Rahimisa (Rahii) wa-Kahimise, my grandfather was Kamenjono, son of Kahimise, son of Kamupure, son of Kambara, son of Tjimangongombe, son of Tjitumuzuva, son of Kuzaire and so on and so on. The white fathers of the members of the NFSI might have come into Namibia from Europe during the life of my great, great, great grandfather Kondorozu, my beloved ancestor. The fathers of the NFSI members colonized our country, brutally took good lands where our ancestors were living; our ancestors were made to work as slaves on these lands. Are those the farms/lands you say your fathers gave to you? Do you really mean that? Your white fathers killed King Kahimemua Nguvauva and many others in order to occupy our lands which you say was given to you.Your fathers and you occupied our lands by force, you enslaved our ancestors to work on the lands/farms you brutally took from us, you exploited our land and our people. We fought, suffered, sacrificed, freed ourselves and offered you reconciliation.Instead of accepting reconciliation, you insultingly tell us, “We will fight for what our ancestors gave us, go so that we can leave it for our children.”Are we not children of our ancestors whose lands/farms you took from them with brutal force? Yes now is the time that we will take our farms/lands back. You humiliate us – we act.History shall absolve us.Rahimisa wa Kahimise WindhoekThe white fathers of the members of the NFSI might have come into Namibia from Europe during the life of my great, great, great grandfather Kondorozu, my beloved ancestor. The fathers of the NFSI members colonized our country, brutally took good lands where our ancestors were living; our ancestors were made to work as slaves on these lands. Are those the farms/lands you say your fathers gave to you?
