WINDHOEK – The Swapo Party will ensure that commercial farmers, captains of industry and Government redouble their efforts to exterminate unemployment in Namibia.
This was said by Swapo’s Chief Whip, Ben Amathila, at a campaign rally for the Windhoek West and East Constituencies on Sunday afternoon. Amathila said Swapo is committed to improving on what it has implemented to ensure that all citizens reap the fruits of Independence, as its manifesto states.”Peace, good governance, democracy and political stability are the strongest ingredients of the Swapo manifesto. We, therefore, call on the captains of industry, since they are the main job creators, to develop a communication platform with the Swapo Party to ensure that we address the issue of employment together,” he said.Amathila sought to reassure people who might be feeling uncertain about the future after President Sam Nujoma’s retirement next year.He said Nujoma will remain the president of the party and will always be available to give advice to both the nation and the new president.”You must get rid of contemplating negative things about your futures, we should not create a situation of war again. We are done with war, and now we are aiming high.Next on our agenda is to improve our socio-economic development,” Amathila said.Commenting on the land issue, he said commercial farmers and those who have more than enough land should embrace the culture of unity, togetherness and be willing to share and live together with their fellow countrymen. In this way, he said, Government could find an amicable solution to the land problem without causing conflict.- NampaAmathila said Swapo is committed to improving on what it has implemented to ensure that all citizens reap the fruits of Independence, as its manifesto states.”Peace, good governance, democracy and political stability are the strongest ingredients of the Swapo manifesto. In this way, he said, Government could find an amicable solution to the land problem without causing conflict.- Nampa
