NAMIBIA Beverages has denied reports that people will lose jobs when it closes its distribution depots at Grootfontein, Keetmanshoop, Otjiwarongo and Walvis Bay.
General Manager Frik Oosthuizen told The Namibian that the company was moving away from a centralised distribution network to cut costs. “I do not want to increase my prices come next year and that is why we are embarking on new distribution strategies,” he added. He said the new strategy would replace the traditional depots with small wholesalers dotted around the country, which would be run by local entrepreneurs.”We are in fact trying to empower people,” he said.”No one will lose a job.””I do not want to increase my prices come next year and that is why we are embarking on new distribution strategies,” he added. He said the new strategy would replace the traditional depots with small wholesalers dotted around the country, which would be run by local entrepreneurs.”We are in fact trying to empower people,” he said.”No one will lose a job.”
