TELEPHONES at the National Museum of Namibia (NMN) are back in order after being cut off for two weeks.
NMN Head Esther Mwoombolah-//Goagoses told The Namibian yesterday that their phones were reconnected yesterday morning. The telephones were disconnected by Telecom Namibia as the Ministry of National Service, Sport and Culture – under which the NMN falls – had failed to pay the NMN’s telephones bills for two months. She said the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Dr Peingondjabi Shipoh had intervened and bills were settled.During the disconnection period, staff at the institution could not receive or make telephone calls or faxes.Had the problem not been solved, it could have disrupted the organisation of a Pan African Rock Art Preservation training workshop, scheduled to take place next month.
