The Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) has clarified a statement by executive director I-Ben Nashandi regarding drought relief food distribution.
The clarification comes after a report on Wednesday suggested that government employees, including school executives, directors, principals, nurses and police officers, were eligible for drought relief food.
The OPM noted that government employees with a regular source of income are not eligible for drought relief assistance.
The eligibility criteria for the drought relief programme’s food assistance remain: Rural households affected by drought, monthly combined household income not exceeding N$3 100, and not receiving any other source of food relief during the programme period.
