THE young man who was arrested for allegedly raping a horse at an Oshana village this past weekend will remain in jail until his case returns to court in February.
On Sunday, Frans Ambunda (19) was allegedly caught red-handed in a tree while raping a horse belonging to a community member at Omuntele village near Okatope. The owner of the horse, Andreas Amadhila, was the one who went to the Police and charged the boy with bestiality.Speaking to The Namibian yesterday, Oshana Police spokesperson Christina Fonsech said Ambunda must have found the horse while it was walking in the field, and decided to lead it to a tree. The animal was then tied to the tree, while the boy climbed into a branch located above it.He then apparently proceeded to rape the horse while hanging from the tree, until its shocked owner showed up to put a stop to his actions.”It’s amazing that he wasn’t even scared that the horse might kick him,” Fonsech said.It would seem that that the older man first took Ambunda to the village council, as Police at Okatope said they had been summoned to the village by a council member.Ambunda was refused bail when he appeared in the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, and will make his second appearance on February 7.The owner of the horse, Andreas Amadhila, was the one who went to the Police and charged the boy with bestiality.Speaking to The Namibian yesterday, Oshana Police spokesperson Christina Fonsech said Ambunda must have found the horse while it was walking in the field, and decided to lead it to a tree. The animal was then tied to the tree, while the boy climbed into a branch located above it.
