BENHARD Iifugula (46), a Control Officer in the Ministry of Health and Social Services at Oshakati State Hospital, was arrested during the early hours of Saturday last week, after he was found with a Government vehicle at the LT 69 Night Club at Ongwediva.
Oshana Police Liaison Officer, Constable Slogan Mathew, said Iifugula was taken to the Oshakati Police station, where he was charged with misuse of a Government vehicle. He was released and warned to appear in court on Monday.He was not asked to plead and his case has been postponed to August 13 for further Police investigation.According to Constable Mathew, the vehicle, GRN27371, was one of the vehicles used during the polio immunisation campaign last month.”We found him inside the bar, luckily not in the vehicle behind the steering wheel, and the vehicle was also not idling,” Constable Mathew said.”Otherwise he might have been charged with drinking and driving also.”He was released and warned to appear in court on Monday.
