FORMER President, Sam Nujoma, has accused opposition party leaders of promoting hatred, tribalism and ethnicity among Namibians.
Addressing a Swapo rally at the J. Stephanus soccer stadium at Keetmanshoop on Saturday, Nujoma singled out the DTA party and it’s President, Katuutire Kaura as culprits who practise tribal politicking.”The behaviour of Kaura is contrary to the Constitution of the Republic of Namibia and the policy of National Reconciliation,” Nujoma said.According to Nujoma, Kaura instigated the residents of Aroab against the Swapo party led Government and preached tribalism at a DTA party rally recently held at the sleepy southern village. In turn, Kaura yesterday opposed Nujoma’s allegations, claiming “naked tribalism” is the order of the day within the Government.”If Nujoma is claiming that I’m promoting tribalism, it’s a question of the pot calling the kettle black,” he contended.Kaura further accused Nujoma of preaching and implementing tribalism throughout the public services.”Look at those in employ of ministries, from a cleaner up to the top rank you’ll find people hailing from Nujoma’s ethnic group,” he said.”This is exactly the case in point I was referring to,” he added.Kaura claimed that Nujoma as true Founding Father of the Nation lacks equity.”Did Nujoma think that Namibians are blind folded and would not point out the tribalism he is implementing and preaching? He can fool Swapo members but not the Namibian people,” Kaura said.Stephanus soccer stadium at Keetmanshoop on Saturday, Nujoma singled out the DTA party and it’s President, Katuutire Kaura as culprits who practise tribal politicking.”The behaviour of Kaura is contrary to the Constitution of the Republic of Namibia and the policy of National Reconciliation,” Nujoma said.According to Nujoma, Kaura instigated the residents of Aroab against the Swapo party led Government and preached tribalism at a DTA party rally recently held at the sleepy southern village.
