Trepper to be remembered for dedication to constituency – wife

Former Swapo Windhoek West constituency councillor György Trepper’s wife, Elaine, says her late husband will be remembered for his dedication to his family and the community he served.

Trepper died at the age of 78 in Windhoek on Saturday.

“He established Swapo structures in the Windhoek West constituency,” she says.

Elaine, who is also a former Windhoek mayor representing Swapo, says her husband took care of their only son when she had work responsibilities.

She says she was born in South Africa, while her husband was born in Hungary, but both adopted Namibia as their country.

“We both love Namibia,” she says.

Trepper served as Swapo councillor from 2014 to 2019.

He replaced Shikwetepo Haindongo, who died in 2019.

Trepper also served on the governing council of the International University of Management.
