The Bank Windhoek Red Run organisers anticipate a memorable and thrilling experience for all involved in the event in Windhoek on 10 August.

Previously known as the Bank Windhoek Relay, the event, which starts at Zoo Park, is a collaboration between the /Ae //Gams Sports Club and Bank Windhoek.

Combining high energy and physical activity, it will challenge participants to complete either five kilometres, 10km, 21,1km or 42,2km, and will be a timed event with a reserved cut-off finish time.

The distances will be measured and marked with water points across the multiple routes, with a host of various vendors offering nutritious food and drinks to participants.

The fastest conquerors of each distance stand a chance to win their share of N$60 000 in prize money while all participants who complete the race will receive a medal.

“Bank Windhoek and /Ae //Gams Sports Club’s partnership for this event further highlights the bank’s active involvement in being connectors of positive change for local organisations while journeying with people of all ages. Lace-up your running shoes and get ready for an actively rewarding day,” says Bank Windhoek marketing and corporate communication executive officer Jacquiline Pack.

Excited for the Red Run and eager to connect with other fitness enthusiasts, Donovan Majiedt from the /Ae //Gams Sports Club says the organisers are looking forward to hosting social and competitive runners in all distances.

“Join us for a day filled with exciting warm-ups and sport-related activities. If you are attending to support your friends and family, this is also a great atmosphere. We are excited that this collaboration will be a huge milestone for the club,” Majiedt says.

The last day for entries is Wednesday, 31 July, with entry payments due Friday, 2 August at 19h00.

Registered participants who have paid the entry fee can collect their race numbers and e-tags on Friday, 9 August from 11h00 to 18h00 at Zoo Park.

The first 500 paid participants will receive a Bank Windhoek Red Run t-shirt.
