Lukas Muha, the chairperson of the National Council, on Katrina Hanse-Himarwa’s death

On behalf of the National Council and myself, I express our heartfelt sympathy and sadness following the passing of Katrina Hanse-Himarwa, who served as minister of education, arts, and culture from 2015 to 2019.Her passing has created a profound void across our nation. She was not only a remarkable legislator and dedicated public servant, but also a beacon of hope and inspiration to countless individuals. Her tireless efforts in the field of education have laid a foundation for a brighter future for our children, and her legacy will continue to inspire us.Her contributions to education have left an indelible mark on our society. Hanse-Himarwa’s relentless efforts to enhance our education system and her unwavering commitment to societal improvement will always be remembered and cherished.We are deeply grateful for her steadfast dedication, vision, and passion for education, and her absence will be keenly felt by all who had the privilege of knowing and working with her.We extend our deepest condolences to the husband, Ghenno Himarwa, children, family, friends, and the entire Namibian nation.During this period of immense grief, please know that our thoughts and prayers remain with you.
