Local modelling agency Figures Model Finesse Namibia aims to help young people succeed in the world of modelling.
According to the agency’s spokesperson, Shareen Mwelwa, by instilling poise, refining appearance and enhancing model-related skills, Figures ensures that students develop widely.
“We are not just a modelling trainer, but we provide character, confidence and public speaking development. With the Project Aim Cruise in South Africa, which sets us apart from other modelling agencies, we’re the only agency providing an international platform,” Mwelwa says.
Recently crowned Miss Teen 2024 first runner-up Caitlyn Bosman is one of many products of the agency.
Figures will host a fashion show under the theme, ‘Alice in Wonderland’, marking the agency’s second show of the year.
The show is slated to take place on Saturday at the Wanderers sports ground in Windhoek.
Mwelwa says the theme was selected because it brings out the creative abilities of the models.
“It is also merged with the idea of growing up and leaving childhood behind as you navigate through life. Being part of Figures Models Namibia as a child aids you with everything you need to build character and become a successful young professional,” she adds.
Speaking to Desert Radio last week, Figures Model Finesse Namibia director Juanita Koen said the fashion show will serve as an opportunity for delegates from their head office to see the models compete for the semi-finals of Global Model of the Year for South Africa, taking place in December.
Kayleen Trump (15) has been a model with the agency since she was 12.
“It’s a very fun thing to do and I enjoy it very much,” Trump says.
With a legacy spanning over three decades, Figures is committed to enhancing the Namibian modelling industry and preparing young stars for the world.
