Kraatz Engineering and the Metal and Allied Namibian Workers Union (Manwu) recently concluded a substantial wage agreement.

Kraatz, a subsidiary of the Ohlthaver & List Group, notes that the new one-year agreement, which comes into effect from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025, shows dedication to creating a supportive work environment for employees.

The company aims to enhance financial stability, support employee satisfaction and strengthen the company’s core values.

The agreement includes a competitive salary adjustment, reinforcing Kraatz’s objective to achieve its targets by 2029 and establish itself as the preferred service provider to the oil and gas industry.

Kraatz managing director Frank Kernstock has expressed pride in the team’s dedication and says the resilience demonstrated by employees during the negotiations was truly commendable.

Manwu Erongo regional coordinator John Hinyekwa says the union is happy with the way the negotiation was conducted.

“We have seen a positive change in how the negotiation was conducted compared to previous negotiations. This is the reason we want to thank Dudley Fourie and his team for spearheading the process and we hope this is the way to go in the future,” Hinyekwa adds.
