The National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia’s managing director, Immanuel Mulunga, has been found not guilty for his role in a controversial N$123-million oil deal.
The chairperson of the disciplinary hearing, retired Supreme Court judge of appeal Gerhard Maritz, yesterday dismissed the case.
“In the result . . . none of the disciplinary complaints against the employee have been established by the employer on a balance of probabilities.
“It follows that all the complaints against him in these proceedings are dismissed.”
Mulunga, who has been on suspension since last year, was facing two charges, including allegations of the transfer of N$123 million from a Namcor account to Sungara Energies.
The company is owned by Namcor and two other partners.
The other charge was breaching conditions of employment, causing a material breach of trust.
