ORLANDO Pirates are not pushing any panic buttons just yet. Bucs have suffered their worst start to an Absa Premiership season in years but new coach Ruud Krol’s job is not on the line at this stage.
Bucs have collected one point from their three opening games without scoring a singe goal. But Krol has being given more time to sort matters out.Krol met with his technical team after the crushing 2-0 defeat by Premier Soccer League rookies Bay United in Port Elizabeth at the weekend to iron out faults and to analyse what went wrong against Bay United.Pirates spokesman Mickey Modisane said he understood the fans’ frustration.”Our supporters have every right to panic. They are our watchdogs, and we are listening. We know we have to turn things around. It is unacceptable for a club such as Pirates losing one game after another and we have to put this right. But Modisane said the fault does not lie with the former Dutch international and captain.Said Modisane: “Krol has the full backing and support of the club’s management. It is not his fault key players are injured and he is forced to chop and change his side every week.Things will improve when we get these key players back from injury. Our medical team are working round the clock.”Krol and his staff went over the DVD of that loss to United and will come up with solutions to fix what is wrong and get Pirates back on track. We know we cannot keep losing points like we have been doing.”Modisane denied their was a crisis at Bucs at the club.Krol is hoping to turn the corner when Bucs tackle Santos in their second home Premiership clash this season at Ellis Park on Saturday night.(8pm).The injured players Krol is hoping to have available, are veteran Zimbabwean international striker Gilbert Mushangazhike, former Bafana Bafana striker Lebo Mokoena, midfielders Bennett Chenene, Tlou Segolela Thulasizwe Mbuyane plus full backs Lucas Thwala and Michael Morton.SupersoccerBut Krol has being given more time to sort matters out.Krol met with his technical team after the crushing 2-0 defeat by Premier Soccer League rookies Bay United in Port Elizabeth at the weekend to iron out faults and to analyse what went wrong against Bay United.Pirates spokesman Mickey Modisane said he understood the fans’ frustration.”Our supporters have every right to panic. We know we cannot keep losing points like we have been doing.”Modisane denied their was a crisis at Bucs at the club.Krol is hoping to turn the corner when Bucs tackle Santos in their second home Premiership clash this season at Ellis Park on Saturday night.(8pm).The injured players Krol is hoping to have available, are veteran Zimbabwean international striker Gilbert Mushangazhike, former Bafana Bafana striker Lebo Mokoena, midfielders Bennett Chenene, Tlou Segolela Thulasizwe Mbuyane plus full backs Lucas Thwala and Michael Morton.Supersoccer
