HAPPIE Ntelamo is our new Miss Namibia 2009.
The striking, 1,85-metre-tall law student was crowned Miss Namibia 2009 at the annual pageant that took place on Saturday at the Windhoek Country Club.

Supporting her during the year of her reign will be 23-year-old Susan van Zyl as Second Princess and 22-year-old Tanja Schemmer as First Princess. Former Miss Namibia and Miss Universe Michelle McLean hosted the pageant, which included performances by South African Idols Season 5 joint winner Jason Hartman and local artists Roger and Tequila.The Top 10 modelled a range of red cocktail dresses by local designers Jaques Jansen van Vuuren, Chakira Claasen, Patricia Mtambalika, Maria Caley and Maiya-Liisa Nautende. Stunning diamond jewellery from the Shining Light Diamond Jewellery Collection was showcased. The finalists modelled the designs of the competition winners from Botswana, South Africa and Namibia.The swimwear portion of the evening, as always, was a big success. The Top 10 modelled a range of slick one-piece costumes in gold and silver from Speedo. The finalists’ evening gowns were designed by Melanie Harteveld-Becker and Wilmien Chamberlain. South African designer Paul van Zyl dressed the Top 10 in a range of floaty, floral couture gowns for the crowning. Selma Usiku was voted Miss Personality by the Top 10, while Susan van Zyl was announced as Miss Photogenic. The judging panel consisted of Nic Kruger, former National Director of the Miss Namibia pageant, Angelene Wiese, Sales Manager of Pupkewitz Toyota, Baronice Hans from Standard Bank, Daniel Nghiwilepo representing Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR), Daphne Martin from Legacy Hotels and Resorts International, Xavier Masule from Air Namibia, Miss Namibia 2006, Anna Nashandi, Paulus Shituna from the Namibia Diamond Trading Company (NDTC) and Karen Woermann from the Woermann Brock Group. Happie wins a host of prizes including flights from Air Namibia, the use of a Toyota Yaris of one year from Pupkewitz Toyota and many more from Windhoek Country Club, Total, NWR, Hertz, Standard Bank, Woermann Brock, Neo Paints, Bio Sculpture Gel, Light House Financial Services, Attila Giersch, Janeel Financial Services, Gerhard Botha, Nakara, Pasta la Vita, Coca Cola, Torga Optical, Salon A-Cut-Above, DeadSet Internet Technologies, Lana Dry Cleaners, Captivate Media Training, Marietha Bouwer Agencies, Body Balance, Y-Train Human Resources Consultant and Revlon.
