STANDARD Bank Swakopmund employee Desiree le Roux (25) appeared in the Swakopmund Magistrates’ Court on Friday on a charge of defrauding the bank of over N$200 000.
Le Roux apparently worked in the bank’s motor vehicle finance department when she allegedly transferred the money from one account to another.She was granted bail of N$7 000, with the conditions that she report to the Swakopmund Police every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and that she hand over her travel documents to the investigating officer. She may also not leave the Swakopmund district without permission from the investigating officer.Le Roux’s case was postponed to August 1 2009 for further investigation.The presiding Magistrate was Harris Salionga, with Hermiena Appolus representing the State.
