Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) secretary general Manuel Ngaringombe says members involved in a car accident 20km outside Divundu on Wednesday evening only sustained minor injuries.
Party members of parliament Elma Dienda, Inna Hengari, newly elected youth league secretary general Julia Nekwaya, central committee member Vakaamuina Kamutuzue, Mike Venaani, and in-house media personnel Desere !Ganes were involved in the accident while on their way to Katima Mulilo for the party’s electoral congress.
Speaking to The Namibian on Thursday, Ngaringombe said the members are all in good condition.
“There were light injuries, but members are all okay. The congress will proceed as planned, and new leadership of the party will be elected and will lead the movement for the next five years,” he said.
The PDM elective congress was supposed to start on Thursday and end on Saturday.
However, as it stands, it looks like it will only commence on Friday.
On Sunday, PDM plans to have a mega rally at the Katima Mulilo Sports Complex
