Bank Windhoek looks to replace Baronice Hans as MD tenure comes to an end

Bank Windhoek has kicked off its recruitment process for a new managing director (MD).

This comes after the Capricorn Group board of directors recently announced that Baronice Hans will complete her tenure at the bank at the end of June 2025.

She has been at the bank since 1 July 2016.

Hans was the first woman in the position and the longest serving MD in the bank’s 42-year history.

Under her leadership, loans and advances surged by 45% in total over the period, and total funding expanded by 60% in total over her eight-year tenure.

Bank Windhoek board chairperson Johan Swanepoel said the board wants a transparent recruitment process to allow enough time for a comprehensive talent search for a suitable successor.

“To ensure a seamless transition of leadership, it is the intention of the board to appoint a suitably qualified successor as MD designate by 1 February 2025, in order to fill the position substantively from 1 July 2025,” said Swanepoel.
