A woman (30) from Ekamba village in the Oshikoto region was allegedly raped on Thursday after refusing alcohol from her alleged rapist.
Oshikoto police spokesperson chief inspector Ellen Nehale on Monday said: “It is alleged that the suspect and the victim were socialising . . . Later on, the suspect allegedly left the location and went to ambush the victim.”
The man then raped the woman, she said.
“The victim rushed home, reported the matter to her boyfriend that she was assaulted by the suspect, and she was taken to the hospital that same night.
“However, she did not reveal that she was raped to the doctor nor her boyfriend, because she was scared of her boyfriend. She only reported it to the police on Sunday,” she said.
Nehale said the suspect, who is Namibian, has not been arrested yet.
