A case of arson was opened after a fire broke out at the gender-based violence (GBV) protection office at Rundu on Monday.

Kavango East police regional crime investigations coordinator deputy commissioner Bonifatius Kanyetu has confirmed the incident, saying a police investigation is underway.

“All furniture, registers, official documents, and case dockets kept at the office were destroyed,” he says.

He says forensic investigations started on Tuesday morning, and an update on the cause of the fire will be made upon completion of the investigation.
