Namibia Correctional Service (NCS) and Khomas Nampol continue to dominate the men and women’s MTC National Volleyball League, respectively.

They maintained pole positions following round six action at Otjiwarongo over the weekend.

NCS delivered outstanding performances, securing consecutive victories on Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday, they started the day with a commanding 3-0 win over host Nampol Otjozondjupa Volleyball Club, and followed that up with another 3-0 result against Keetmanshoop Correctional Facility later in the day.

On Sunday, NCS maintained their winning momentum, defeating Calvary Eagles 3-1. NCS head coach Festus Amukwa expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance. He called for cool heads to ensure they secure the championship.

Speaking to the media after their final game on Sunday, Amukwa said that despite their dominance, the job is far from done.

“Yes, we are unbeaten. I can guarantee you that we still have a lot of work to do, especially for the last round at Swakopmund.

“We remain content with every game that we take, and we take each one very, very seriously. So, for the last two games, we’re going to come with everything we have,” Amukwa said.

A deep squad brimming with quality has been key to the team’s success this season, Amukwa noted.

“We have surplus players, meaning I can exhaust six players and bring in another six, and their level of play is the same. Essentially, I can give you two teams in the correctional service, and our opponents struggle to cope with that,” said the upbeat coach.

Similarly, Khomas Nampol also delivered flawless performances in the women’s division over the weekend.

They claimed two convincing 3-0 victories on Saturday, first against Calvary Eagles and then against Coastal Warriors.

On Sunday, Khomas Nampol beat Unam Hard Hitters 3-1 and had another 3-0 win against Namibian Navy.

Their coach, Greta Hutondokwa, says hard work during training for matches is the key to their success.

“There is no secret. Actually, we just practice more. We are going to Erongo next, and we are going to prepare to win those games too,” Hutondokwa says.

In other notable results, the Namibian Defence Force Raptors earned a 3-1 victory against Calvary Eagles and swept Coastal Warriors 3-0.

Unam Hard Hitters had a mixed weekend, starting strong with a 3-0 win over Nampol Otjozondjupa, but later falling 0-3 to Keetmanshoop Correctional Facility.
