Walvis woman offers free childcare to help unemployed mothers hunt for jobs

Walvis Bay community members have praised a local woman for starting an initiative to help unemployed mothers find jobs.

Narraville resident Jayneshree Beukes says she and a friend will look after unemployed women’s children for two day to give them an opportunity to seek job opportunities.

“My hope is that at least one of the many mothers find a job as a result of this free service, as it is a challenge,” she said on Wednesday.
According to Beukes, she can handle a maximum of 10 babies at a time.

She said she hopes to register her own daycare business soon.

“I would have loved to assist the babies with food during that time but it will unfortunately be challenging without funds. I would appreciate it if the mothers can bring their babies with their food or milk,” she added.
