The Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Fund has extended its condolences to the families of the victims of a tragic accident on Auas Road yesterday.
According to MVA fund spokesperson John Haufiku, the crash, which took place near Truckport at approximately 18h11, resulted in two deaths and left 11 injured.
“The crash had one entrapment and 11 injuries, with severe to moderate degrees of injury.”
He says the entrapped passenger succumbed to his/her injuries at the scene, while one driver died at Lady Pohamba Private Hospital.
“The MVA Fund encourages affected family members to visit the MVA Fund Service Centre in Windhoek for relevant claims, such as funeral grants injury grant, loss of support and loss of income benefits,” Haufiku says.
He says the fund and its partners in the road safety sector implore all road users to be vigilant and thorough when preparing to travel.
“The MVA Fund reminds all road users to report crashes to the MVA Fund’s toll-free accident response number at 9682, as doing so could save a life,” he says.
